Daytime Crisis Mental Health Therapist

Description
Center for Human Development Inc. is seeking a full-time Crisis Therapist to respond to crisis situations in the community.  Prepares safety plans, arrange hospitalization, provides after care therapy and care coordination direct services and prepares and testifies in civil commitment proceedings.  Responsibility for providing daytime crisis coverage Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm, and occasional after hours coverage.

Essential Duties
Provide clinical services such as MH assessments, treatment planning and individual therapy. 

Responsible for developing and maintaining positive relationships with community partners such as Grande Ronde Hospital, local and state law enforcement, courts, public schools, etc.

Oversee respite workers as needed. 

Pre-commitment and commitment functions to include testifying in court.  Coordinate discharge planning activities for individuals in state hospital and other residential settings. 

Responsible for developing alternatives to hospitalization and efforts are directed at minimizing hospitalization. 

The Requirements
Master’s Degree in a social science field.

Two years of relevant mental health experience.

Must qualify as a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP). 

CADC or willingness to pursue. 

Willingness to pursue MH Investigator/Examiner certification. 

Experience in pre-commitment and commitment functions to include testifying in court.  

Knowledge of practices, principles and philosophy of mental health treatment crisis intervention and A&D Treatment, CBT, MI, and other therapy modalities

Requires excellent communication skills, knowledge of assessment and treatment planning, computer literacy and ability to work in a team environment. 

Requires valid driver’s license, and must pass criminal history check and drug screening.
