Communicable Disease Nurse

Description
Center for Human Development, Inc. is seeking a full-time Public Health Communicable Disease Nurse. This position will work to protect and improve the health of Union County residents through prevention, education and the provision of direct home or office services in the areas of communicable disease investigations, testing and counseling and emergency planning into other community services.
The CD Nurse will participate in state-developed, or approved, public health emergency exercise programs with local emergency management and public safety agencies, using tools provided by the state for orientation, tabletop, functional, and full-scale exercises.

The Requirements
Licensure as a registered nurse in the state of Oregon, RN, BSN

Thorough knowledge of nursing practices, procedures, public health nursing skills, interviewing and counseling techniques.

Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing; ability to associate tactfully and empathetically with clients of various ages, educational levels and developmental stages; use initiative judgment, creativity; work independently; maintain effective working relationships with other agencies, professionals, citizen groups and other employees.

Ability to organize and prioritize work.

Experience and training in public/community health nursing or maternal/child health nursing preferred.

Must possess a valid Oregon Driver’s license and pass a criminal history check and drug screening.
