After-Hours Crisis Mental Health Therapist

Want an entire week off work every other week?

Center for Human Development Inc. is seeking a full-time Crisis Therapist to provide after-hour mental health crisis response in rural Union County, Oregon, Monday through Friday 5:00 pm to 8:00 am, and weekend coverage (Saturday through Sunday) with a rotating schedule of one week on and one week off. The Crisis Therapist will carry the crisis cell phone and be responsible for crisis response during their on-call shift. Phone calls during these hours are initially screened by a telephonic behavioral health service. This is a full-time, exempt position that is paid a consistent salary regardless of low census.  

Essential Duties
Provide clinical services such as MH assessments, treatment planning and individual therapy. 

Responsible for developing and maintaining positive relationships with community partners such as Grande Ronde Hospital, local and state law enforcement, courts, public schools, etc.

Responsible for developing alternatives to hospitalization and efforts are directed at minimizing hospitalization. 

The Requirements
Master’s Degree in a social science field.

Two years of relevant mental health experience.

Must qualify as a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP). 

CADC or willingness to pursue. 

Willingness to pursue MH Investigator/Examiner certification. 

Experience in pre-commitment and commitment functions to include testifying in court.  

Experience with high risk and /or suicidal individuals along with experience in developing alternative options to prevent psychiatric hospitalization.  

Requires excellent communication skills, knowledge of assessment and treatment planning, computer literacy and ability to work in a team environment. 

Requires valid driver’s license, and must pass criminal history check and drug screening.
