Center for Human Development, Inc. is seeking a full-time Adult Dual Diagnosis Mental Health Therapist to work with individuals who have a severe and persistent mental illness and substance abuse problems. This position provides diagnostic assessment, treatment planning, and completes necessary updates as required.  The position also provides effective and efficient management of the caseload. This position builds rapport with community partners, and works independently and within a self-directed team environment. This therapist completes progress notes, treatment plans, revisions or terminations within deadlines, and understands agency productivity requirements and complies as appropriate. Works on agency committees and cross-team committees as a representative of the behavioral health team and sits on community and interagency committees as a representative of CHD.

The Requirements
Master's degree in a social sciences field required.

Two years of relevant mental health experience.

Must meet requirements of a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP).

Certified as an Alcohol and Drug Counselor or must begin certification process upon hire, or must meet educational requirements that approve engagement in A&D therapy.

Knowledge of practices, principles and philosophy of mental health treatment, including motivational interviewing, assessment, treatment plans and diagnoses, and crisis counseling.

Be familiar with and adhere to ethics governing field/position.

Knowledge of computer basics.

Communicate effectively verbally and in writing.

Must possess a valid driver’s license and pass all criminal history check requirements and drug screenings.
